POBL (2022-2023)

Between 6th February 2023 to 22nd February 2023, I facilitated 8 creative and therapeutic art sessions at POBL Mill Street Hostel in Pontypridd. POBL is a charitable organisation that provides support and temporary living for individuals over the age of 18 that are experiencing homelessness. The sessions provided were for the people living and working within the facility and involved the following activities;

- Name illustrations with felt tips and oil pastels

- Printing with recycled materials (using Acrylic Paints)

- Collaging Comfort (using tissue paper and books from charity shops)

- Finger puppet making (using felt and embroider thread)

- Watercolor painting

- Mix-media Masking making

- Suncatcher making

- Collaborative art making.

In collaboration with the organisation's aims and participants' needs, the overall aims of the sessions were: to introduce and develop artistic knowledge and skills that provide participants with therapeutic art practices to explore outside the session,
develop a sense of community within the facility by providing a non-judgemental atmosphere, facilitate flexible and interesting sessions using affordable or recycled materials, and develop participants’ artistic identity.

The artwork created by participants was hung up around the facility after sessions to celebrate the participants artistic outcomes.
