My work as an Artist
As mentioned in the introduction page, most of my artwork is centered around my experiences, my interests and spreading awareness of topics such as mental health, using symbolic imagery and occasional illustrations and paintings that are intended for amusement. This page contains a gallery of the artwork I have produced and currently working on; each image has a title, the mediums used, and a description of what the artwork initially represents which can be accessed by clicking over the image. Some images also contains links that provide more information about the topics I am depicting and artwork you can purchase on my Etsy shop; you can access these links by clicking "go to link".

Inspired by the famous painting of "Fallen Angel" by Alexandre Cabanel, I wanted to create my own acrylic painting to represent the judgment received by those who express themselves alternatively, such as dyed hair piercings and tattoos. I intend to give Lucifer dyed teal hair, piercings, and a sleeve tattoo to demonstrate that these elements are undeserving of presumptions. The title of the piece is to show how you present yourself is not a measurement for someone else.

One of my hyperfixations is mantids, and outside my practices, I am a mantis keeper. I used to own a Yunna Flower Mantis that passed away last year. In response to their death, I started creating an ink dot piece of them to represent grief. I plan to draw a wishbone with Venus flytraps around it to represent the emotional distress and appreciation for memories you had with someone who has passed.

To keep myself occupied during Covid-19 Lockdown, I wanted to create a large-scale acrylic painting of a Dragon Seahorse surrounded by lotus flowers. This piece is around 89.5cm tall and 52.5cm wide. Although it doesn't have an initial meaning, it provided a sense of escapism for me during this time. I am planning to add fireflies dispersing from the flowers to represent the anxiety lifted from the time I started the piece.

I wanted to create a graphite drawing of hands wringing out water from painted watercolour flowers depicting burnout from the external stressors. The water I plan to add is symbolic of our wellbeing, and how the environments out of our control can impact that.

I wanted to create an acrylic piece that represented the desire to learn more. The Blue Morpho Butterfly symbolises the acceptance of new information and changes of ideas from it. The eyes are an illustration learning through observation while the cloudy starry night sky above is supposed to represent upcoming clarity gained from what is learned. This piece is symbolic of the liberating feeling of cutting off abusive individuals. The artwork is intended to be the two of swords tarot card with the octopus taking center of the image which would be a blindfolded woman. The octopus removing the blindfold, coming out of the card and holding one of the swords while dropping the other represents the hard decision being made and the liberation that comes alongside it. Over the summer period between second and third year of university, I was struggling with financial stability and felt uncertain of the future despite knowing my return to my course. These feelings of uncertainty made me feel lost which inspired me to create a ghost sailing through a foggy sea with only a lantern to bring them comfort. As a part of my second year in University assignments, I collaborative with the Queen’s Green Canopy and the Cardiff & Vale Health Charity to create a piece for the patients living in the Recovery Unit at University Hospital Llandough while celebrating the millions of trees planted in the name of Queen Elizabeth. In response, I created this watercolour crow with watercolour and ink welsh flowers in tribute to Welsh heritage and nature. You can purchase signed prints of this on the link below

In my second year of University, I produced an interactive installation piece that spreads awareness of PTSD symptoms for my assignment. The piece contains a painting of a witch's grotto, a wooden crate with items, and a book stand with a book. The book contains illustrations and descriptions of creatures representing a symptom of PTSD and how to help with symptoms. There are polymer clay figures of the creatures you can find around the piece. The link below is an interactive video of the art.
